Austevoll installs transport system in plant

Norwegian seafood company Austevoll has purchased a new transport system from an American company for its Atlantic salmon processing plant in Storeb.

Austevoll is using a 140-meter system created by Whooshh Innovations of Bellevue, Wash., for transporting fish from the slaughter/gutting line to a filleting station.

The system, which will be suspended from the ceiling of the Austevoll plant, is expected to transport the fish the entire 140 meters in less than 30 seconds. The system will also re
