Cocoa companies invest in Indonesia

Indonesia is becoming a hotbed for cocoa processors, as Olam and Cargill last week unveiled plans to build new facilities in the country. The announcements come about eight months after Barry Callebaut inaugurated a $33 million, 30,000-tonne-capacity joint cocoa processing facility in Makassar, Indonesia. Indonesia is the worlds third largest cocoa bean producer behind Ivory Coast and Ghana in West Africa.
