Weston Foods acquires rye breads maker Rubschlager Baking

North American baking company Weston Foods, a subsidiary of George Weston, has completed the acquisition of Rubschlager Baking of Chicago, Illinois.

Rubschlager, which focuses on a full range of authentic rye breads and a variety of deli-style cocktail breads, distributes its products across the US and Canada.

Commenting on the deal, Weston Foods Frozen division president Kevin McDonough said Rubschlager will bring world-class, authentic rye products and capabilities to complement the company'
