Mozambican Tuna Company to Start Operating in 2014

Mozambican company Empresa Moambicana de Atum (EMATUM), set up by the government for tuna fishing, is due to start operating this year.

Fishing Minister, Victor Borges said that between eight and eleven fishing vessels ordered in 2013 were due to be delivered by the end of June by French shipyard Constructions Mcaniques de Normandie. The vessels cost 300 million, reports MacauHub.

Mr Borges said that EMATUM, which is majority-owned by the government, will have its headquarters in Maputo but in
