U.S. orange crop down 2% from March

The U.S. Department of Agriculture on April 9 forecast 2013-14 U.S. orange production at 7,195,000 tons (166 million boxes), down 173,000 tons, or 2%, from the prior forecast and down 13% from a revised 8,269,000 tons in 2012-13.

The U.S.D.A. forecast Florida orange production at 4,950,000 tons (110 million 90-lb boxes), down 180,000 tons, or 4%, from the prior forecast and down 18% from 6,013,000 tons in 2012-13.

Floridas frozen concentrated orange juice yield was forecast at 1.60 gallons per
