Almost half of peppers imported by the EU supplied by Spain

In 2013, Spain was the European Union's largest pepper supplier. From the 1,117 million kilos imported by the EU, 46.35% were purchased from Spain, 35.37% from the Netherlands and the remaining 6.82% from Morocco, according to data provided by Euroestacom (Eurostat-Icex).

Spain shipped a total of 518.16 million kilos at an average of 1.44 Euro/kilo, obtaining a total turnover of 747.57 million Euro.
