PepsiCo to cater to local preferences with new Chinese snacks plant

The 25,000 square metre plant will produce Frito-Lay snack products such as Lays and Stax.

It is PepsiCos sixth plant in the market and its first food plant in the country that is LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

The plant has capacity to produce 15,000 tonnes of Lays potato chips annually and PepsiCo is expected to take on an additional 1,000 staff to run the facility.
