flameproof casserole dish or non-stick saucepan over medium-high heat (see note). Add onion, carrot and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes or until onion starts to soften. Add bacon. Cook for 3 minutes or until golden. Add garlic. Stir to combine.

2. Add mince to dish. Cook, breaking up mince with a wooden spoon, for 5 minutes or until browned all over. Stir in tomato paste, tomatoes, stock and thyme sprigs. Cover. Bring to the boil. Add spaghetti. Reduce heat to medium. Simmer,
