The consumption of sprouts seems to be increasing slightly in Europe, the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) reports on its website. More sprouts are being eaten in Holland, Great Britain and Belgium in particular. Here the annual consumption is between 700 and 800 grams per person per year. The sprout cultivation is also mainly concentrated in these three countries, out of which Belgium produces the most sprouts for the frozen industry.
