Morocco will be allowed to ship blueberries to the U.S., according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture proposal.
The USDA said in a Federal Register Jan. 2 notice that said the USDA will accept comments on the proposal through March 3.
Under the terms of the proposal, fresh blueberries from Morocco will have to be treated to eliminate the threat of pests before they can be shipped to the U.S.
The USDA notice said Morocco expects to export 360,000 pounds of fresh blueberries to the U.S. annual
