CFIA suspends operations at fish processor Leslie Leger & Sons

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operations of Leslie Leger Sons, effective 20 December 2013 as the site failed to implement adequate controls for food safety.

Located in Cap Pel, New Brunswick, the facility processes pickled, spiced and marinated fish.

CFIA stated that the plant failed to comply with minimum regulatory standards for equipment, sanitation and hygiene in violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations.
