Low production leads to hike in Vietnamese pepper price

According to Chu Se Pepper Association, low pepper production inVietnamthis year has led to prices rocketing in the past few days in the Central Highland Provinces.

In the pepper cultivation areas of Chu Se and Chu Puh Districts in Gia Lai Province, pepper production this year was merely 37.7 quintals per hectare, a decline of nearly 30 percent against the previous year.

Farmers in the Central Highland Provinces had been enjoying a surge in price of pepper from VND150,000 per kilo to VND160,00
