At least 27 people are sick with Salmonella after attending the annual Bean Day fundraiser at First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Athens, AL, reports WAFF-TV.
The event was held Oct. 4 by the Limestone County Foundation on Aging, and 13 people were later admitted to the Athens-Limestone Hospital after 50 people associated with the outbreak came to the emergency room.
An Athens-Limestone Hospital spokesperson told WAFF that the number of people sick is actually higher than what is being
