U.S. milk production totaled 16,835 million lbs in August, up 2.6% from August 2012, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Milk Production report. January-August production totaled 136,095 million lbs, up 0.4% from the same period last year. First-quarter production of 50,501 million lbs was down 1.1% from the first quarter of 2012, and April-June production was 51,955 million lbs, up 0.9%, the U.S.D.A. said.
