Tesco said that the response in America to the novel fresh fruit product had been so positive that production has been increased from two acres to 100 acres this year, with 200 acres already planted for 2014.
According to Tesco grape buyer Gethyn Formby, the retailer believes that the new grape flavours will appeal to shoppers who like the texture of a grape but the sweet taste of a berry.
He added, There are many different varieties of grape but over the last 50 years growers have concentrate
