Yields on Brazilian interest rate futures roseacross the board in Thursday trading, as the evidence of morerobust consumer demand raised expectations of a longer cycle ofinterest rate increases from the central bank to controlinflation.

Lower inflation is allowing consumers to have morepurchasing power and credit is improving a little, which isreflected in the very good retail sales, Finance Minister GuidoMantega told journalists in Brasilia.
