Brazilian supermarkets sales increased when compared to 2012

Supermarket sales increased 4.16% in the first seven months of the year compared with 2012. The figures, released on Tuesday the 27, are the result of the calculation of the National Sales Index of the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (ABRAS).

In July, sales increased 3.45% from the previous month and there was a 11.59% increase compared to July 2012. The results exclude Broad National Consumer Price inflation index. ABRAS noted that July 2012 had been one of the weakest months in sales, w
