To meet increasing demand for its own-label dairy products, Coop-owned Grd Dairy has recruited 13 new dairy farms in Dalarna, Vstmanland and Uppland, meaning that 39 dairy farms will supply the Swedish retailer from January 2014.
The farms will deliver about 13 million kilograms of raw milk, with the agreements set to last for five years.
Grd Dairy also produce sour cream, yoghurt and crme fraiche for the retailer. Three new Grd Dairy products will be added to Coop's portfolio next week, with
