New fish processing facility to be established in Ghana

The new facility will have a capacity of 100t and the products will be suitable for export. The waste from processing facility will be used as fish-feed for the poultry industry.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama said that this project is part of numerous projects that have been aimed at boosting the fishing industry.

Construction of a fishing harbour at Elmina and Jamestown in Accra will begin the end of 2013, he added.
