New fish processing facility to be established in Ghana

Ghana has broken ground on an $11m fish processing facility in Elmina, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) district, in the Central Region.

The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, in partnership with India-based Expotec International. It is expected to be completed in 18 months, reported the Ghana News Agency.

In addition to the seafood processing facility, the project will involve the construction of fish waste processing section, cold stores, packaging section,
