Peru coffee production to decline 25% in 2013

Coffee production in Peru is expected to decline by 25% in 2013 due to the outbreak of the roya disease in coffee-growing regions.

Roya, a plant-eating fungus, has affected crops in some Latin American countries and made its way to Peru.

Coffee growers in Peru were concerned about this and urged the government to take adequate measures to replace their crops.
