Corn maturity continues to lag average

Although silking was nearly complete, corn reaching the dough and dent stages, with the latter indicating maturity, in the 18 major states continued to lag five-year averages as of Aug. 11, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its most recent Crop Progress report.
