Are ‘slow food’ formats creating new fast foods?

The growing trend in Australia for higher-priced, higher-quality, yet still casual and quick dining suggests that new offerings emerging for fast food are old-fashion slow food forms with a quick twist.
Portuguese chicken chain Nandos, Mexican-food franchise Salsas Fresh Mex, new schnitzel producer Schnitz, and a host of boutique burger bars including Melbourne-born Grilld and recently opened Huxtaburger and Jus Burgers, offer more epicurean alternatives to traditional fast food.
