Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), an India-based milk co-operative operating under the Amul brand, is set to establish a new dairy plant in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of INR1.5bn ($25.12m) .
The dairy co-operative has initiated buying milk from local farmers through its member union dairy - Banas Dairy.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also invited Amul to set up more plants to revive the cooperative dairy sector in the state.
