France-based retail conglomerate Auchan Group, which forayed into India in 2012 under a franchisee agreement with Max Hypermarket of Landmark Group, has chalked out plans to open 12 to 15 stores per year in the country.
Auchan currently operates 13 hypermarkets in the country with Max Hypermarket.
As part of the expansion, Auchan recently opened a new outlet in Chennai. Occupying 5,800m of retail space, the new store offers 18,000 food and non-food SKUs
