Most flavor packets do not contain undeclared allergens or gluten- CFIA study

For the study, CFIA analysed 100 samples that were taken from retail stores in 2010-2011. Products were assessed for seven allergens - soy, milk, egg, peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts and sesame, and gluten.
The study results showed that 25 samples contained detectable levels, of which only three were recalled as the rest were determined by Health Canada to be safe for consumers, including those with allergies.
