High fat diet scientifically proven link to sleepiness

A high fat diet appears to increase levels of daytime sleepiness, according to a new study presented at the 27th annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies LLC on 4 June 2013.

The findings, undertaken by researchers at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey Pennsylvannia, show that higher fat consumption was associated with increased objective daytime sleepiness, while higher carbohydrate intake was associated with increased alertness.
