Japan halts some U.S. wheat imports after bioengineered wheat find in Oregon

The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on May 30 announced it would suspend imports of U.S. western white and feed wheat after the U.S. Department of Agricultures Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) on May 29 confirmed test results of plant samples from an Oregon farm indicated the presence of bioengineered glyphosate-resistant wheat plants.
