Tetra Pak introduces new cap made from renewable material

Swedish food packaging and processing company Tetra Pak has introduced a new bio-based LightCap 30 made from renewable material.

The high density polyethylene (HDPE) LightCap 30 is made from renewable polyethylene obtained from sugar cane. The cane is fermented and distilled to produce ethanol which is converted into ethylene that undergoes polymerization to produce the polyethylene used to manufacture the cap.
