Danone acquires Happy Family baby food brand

Danone has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority interest in the Happy Family brand of organic baby food products. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and once the transaction is complete Danone will own 90% of the company.

With a 4% share of the U.S. baby food market, the New York-based Happy Family is the fourth largest baby food brand in the country. Annual sales are approximately $60 million. The company offers a full line of products for babies, toddlers and children.
