U.S. 2014 sugar carryover seen up 4%

ariff rate quota imports were projected at 1,265,000 tons, up 171,000 tons, or 16% from 1,094,000 tons forecast for 2012-13 and the minimum required under World Trade Organization agreements. Imports of sugar from Mexico in 2013-14 were projected at 1,763,000 tons, up 89,000 tons, or 5%, from 1,674,000 tons in 2012-13, the latter of which was raised 27,000 tons from the April forecast.

Total U.S. sugar supply was projected at 14,190,000 tons, up 287,000 tons, or 2%, from 13,903,000 tons in 2012
