Schmalz's European Provisions, Springfield, NJ, recalled approximately 8,424 lbs. of chicken and apple sausage because the product may contain small pieces of plastic, the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service reported Feb. 27.
The company discovered the problem after receiving three consumer complaints. However, no injuries were reported to FSIS or Schmalz's, the agency said.
