World Cocoa Foundation, Lindt partner with USDA to support fine-flavor cocoa research

The World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), Swiss chocolate manufacturer Lindt Sprungli are partnering with the US Department of Agriculture to support genetics research on fine-flavor cocoa varieties grown in Ecuador.

The USDA's Agricultural Research Service's Sustainable Perennial Crops Laboratory's research is focused on understanding the genetic diversity of Ecuador's Nacional type cocoa varieties and how they are differentiated from other varieties grown throughout South America and the Caribbean.
