Vegetarian and vegan diets protect against cancer, compared with nonvegetarian diets,according to a new study published by the American Association for Cancer Research.
Researchers analyzed 69,120 participants as part of the Adventist Health Study-2 and found thatbeyond the reduced risk for overall cancer, vegetarian and vegan diets significantly reduced therisk of gastrointestinal cancers (stomach, colon, pancreas, etc.) and female-specific cancers(breast, uterine, ovarian, etc.), respectively
