Multivac to unveil new product at Boston show

Kansas City-based Multivac is planning the release of a new packaging for oven-ready seafood at the International Boston Seafood Show on March 10-12.

The Mylar COOK Material, from DuPont Teijin Films, is oven-safe and self-venting. The product follows a previous release of a cook-in-bag pork loin. At the show, the company plans to introduce a seafood version.

The bags work at temperatures up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, or 218 degrees Celsius. The product is designed to make cooking fish in the
