Mars Chocolate purchased 10% of its cocoa supply from certified sustainable sources in 2011 and purchases were approved according to Rainforest Alliance and UTZ Certified standards. The company also started purchasing Fairtrade cocoa in 2011.
Mars Chocolate Sustainable Cocoa Initiative aims to use certification to support cocoa farmers globally. The initiative is one of the largest efforts within the cocoa industry to boost productivity, strengthen communities, and improve farmer incomes, the co
