Marks and Spencer in talks to open food-only stores in France

British retail major Marks and Spencer is in talks with franchise partners to roll out standalone Simply Food outlets in France, following the successful performance of its two new stores.

MS chief executive Marc Bolland was quoted by The Independent as saying that the British style biscuits and jams are gaining popularity among Parisians.

We expected it (food) to be good but not so good. We are looking into Simply Food and we are particularly looking at Paris and one or two other locations. B
