UK to introduce calorie labels on alcoholic drink bottles

The UK government plans to introduce calorie labels on the bottles of wine, spirits and beer sold in the country to control consumers from over consumption of alcoholic drinks.

According to a recent survey by alcohol education charity DrinkAware Trust, high calories of alcohol drinks are directly related to consumers being overweight and obese.
The survey also revealed that two glasses of wine accounts for 400cal, which is equivalent to consuming a beefburger.
