Around 609 tons of grapes from Maharashtra have already been exported to the EU this season, even before the typical peak month of February.
This is a contrast with last season, when fears over chemical residues saw exports drop to almost nothing. This time last season just 63.60 tons had been exported.
Most of the grapes have been purchased for sale in the UK, though the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Finland have also imported.
