Recovery making things tough for retail prepared foods

With the recession seemingly over, American consumers are goingback to restaurants -- and suddenly retailers have to competewith them by offering higher quality pizzas and other preparedfoods, according to Technomic, Chicago, Illinois.

These consumers may be reversing the patterns they set a coupleof years ago by heading back to restaurants, said DarrenTristano, vice president of Technomic.
