UK supermarket seafood sales fall in 2012

The top five species are:

Salmon: with a 24 percent market share, volume was up significantly by 17 percent, but value tracked behind at 11.8 percent. This points to an increase in the harvest, resulting in lower prices being achieved.

Haddock: with a market share of 8 percent, value was up 9.3 percent and volume up by 6.9 percent

Cod: with a market share of 7 percent, it did not perform as well as haddock, with volume up 6.5 percent and value down 3.6 percent
