Norway and Iceland Biggest Fishery Nations

In 2010, Norwegian and Icelandic vessels caught 2,563 and 1,063 tonnes of fish respectively.

In comparison, Norwegian and Icelandic fish catches together were at the level of 73.3 per cent of the total EU capture (4944 tonnes).

The largest fishery nations in the EU were Denmark (828 tonnes) and Spain (739 tonnes).

Data on European fishery for the last 15 years are shown in the 2012 edition of the Pocketbook on Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry statistics issued by Eurostat.
