Amul to establish dairy unit in India

India-based Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the marketer of the Amul brand of milk and dairy products, is set to establish a dairy unit in Thane, Maharashtra.

The facility, which will be set up with an investment of INR1.4bn ($25.60m), will collect about 1 million litres of milk per day.

Amul general manager K Ratnam said that the first unit will be built in the Vasai area.

Recently, the co-operative has established a facility in Rajgurunagar in Pune district of Mahara
