Slane Castle seeks permission to build whiskey distillery

Slane Castle Irish Whiskey, an Ireland-based distillery owned by the Mountcharles family, has sought permission from local government to construct a new whiskey distillery at their unused stable yards in Slane, Ireland.

The company has been selling Slane Castle Irish Whiskey, made in Cooley Distillery, since 2009. However, after Cooley's owner Jim Beam decided to stop distilling the whiskey, Slane decided to come up with their own.

If everything goes as planned, the distillery will open by 201
