New farms to boost NS aquaculture

The Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association (ACFFA) is applauding two new salmon farms in Jordan Bay, Nova Scotia, as another solid step in an ongoing aquaculture strategy for the province.

The approved new farms, produced by Cooke Aquaculture, are expected to generate 27 new jobs. The new venture comes on the heels of other work the company has done in Nova Scotia, including expanding its Truro feed mill, building a hatchery in the Digby area and building a processing plant in the Shelburne a
