Between 2001 and 2010, dried plum export volumes worldwide increased by 72.2%, reaching 216,524 tonnes. The main exporters are the United States, Chile, Argentina, France, the Netherlands and Germany. According to information from Odepa, Chile is the main exporter in the Southern Hemisphere, with shipments reaching 59,966 tonnes in 2011, valued at 112.3 million dollars. Those near 60,000 tonnes represented around 30% of the total worldwide exports this season.
