FSIS Has Revised Food Additives Directive

FSIS has revised its Directive 1720.1, Safe and Suitable Ingredients Used in the Production of Meat, Poultry and Egg Products, which provides inspection program personnel (IPP) with an up-to-date list of substances that may be used in the production of meat, poultry and egg products.

FSIS will continue to update the directive quarterly by issuing revisions instead of issuing amendments, it announced Wednesday.
