Scottish hospitality urged to reduce food waste and inefficiencies

Restaurants, takeaways and other food related businesses in Scotland are being urged to help tackle the rising scourge of food waste and other food inefficiencies.

The initiative has been launched by Zero Waste Scotland, a non-government organisation aimed at slashing the countrys carbon footprint.

It is estimated that the Scottish hospitality industry wastes the equivalent of one in every six meals that it serves and costs around 212 million a year.
