Lemon poppy-seed cake

Ingredients

200g butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup milk
Grated zest of lemon
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 cups plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
6 tbsp poppy seeds
Lemon Syrup
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp sugar
Grated zest of 1 lemon

Method

Step 1
Preheat oven to 160C. Grease and line a 23cm round tin with baking paper.
