Preparing food on copper surfaces can lower food poisoning cases

According to the researchers, copper acts against the bacteria as it reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere over time through oxidation, which produces a residue that is toxic to some bacteria.
For the study, the International Copper Association donated six samples of copper alloys, including samples of copper mixed with metals such as nickel, iron, chromium, phosphorous and tin.
